AI Agents in Action: How Copilot Is Reshaping the Way We Work

Published on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at 11:44:38 AM

We’re officially in the era of AI agents—and it is set to change everything about how we work, collaborate, and create.

At Integrated ICT, we’ve been exploring the power of Microsoft Copilot and other AI platforms and how they can help streamline our workflows, enhance customer experience, and unlock new levels of productivity. AI agents are no longer just assistants—they’re becoming active collaborators.

What Are AI Agents?

AI agents are intelligent systems that can perform tasks on your behalf—autonomously or with minimal input. Think of them as digital team members that can:

  • Summarise documents and webpages
  • Draft emails and reports
  • Automate repetitive tasks
  • Retrieve and organise data from internal systems
  • Even collaborate in Teams chats or SharePoint environments

Microsoft’s latest vision, unveiled at Build 2025, is all about the “open agentic web”—a future where AI agents operate across apps, platforms, and workflows to help individuals and organisations get more done.

How We’re Using Copilot Internally

Here’s a real example from our team: To prepare this blog, I have reviewed over 40 source documents by utilising Copilot to summarise documents, reports and webpages, saving hours in review and cross referencing. That’s not just time saved—it is clarity gained, and better communication delivered.

At Integrated ICT it isn’t just something that we ‘talk about’ or sell, we’re also experimenting with Copilot “agents” – for example, we have created agents that can automate the retrieval of SharePoint content and even help prep for meetings—all without needing to be prompted every time.

Why It Matters for You

Whether you’re in marketing, sales, or operations, AI agents can:

  • Boost productivity by handling the busywork
  • Enhance customer experience with faster, more personalised responses
  • Improve decision-making by surfacing insights from across your systems
  • Free up your team to focus on strategy, creativity, and innovation

What’s Next?

We’re just scratching the surface. Microsoft’s roadmap includes:

  • Multi-agent orchestration for complex business tasks
  • Copilot Studio for building custom agents
  • GitHub Copilot’s evolution into a full coding agent
  • Windows AI Foundry for on-device AI experiences

As these tools mature, we’ll see AI agents become as essential as email or Teams—woven into the fabric of how we work.
